User Guidelines

Hold up, vibe check! Are you keeping to our Posting & Community Guidelines?

We want to keep Quest safe and open to everyone, so we’ve got a couple ground rules. Quests that go against our guidelines will be removed, and users committing the violation may be subjected to a range of enforcement actions from posting restrictions to a permanent ban from the app.

General rule of thumb: Quests are gig-based opportunities, tasks, or services with the intention to pay the other party.

  • Learning a new skill (e.g. benching, roller skating)
  • Miscellaneous (e.g Car wash, cleaning, grocery run, item collection, delivery, etc.)  

DO NOT post

  • Personal advertising
  • Sharing of subscription services
  • Selling of items or services 
  • Job search
  • Looking for friends
  • Loaning of money
  • Referrals 
  • Recruitment calls and surveys
  • Tasks with no intention of payment
  • Academic deceit 
  • Hitch riding services

Additional Details

  • To ensure a safe and secure environment, all Quests posted must be legal according to local laws. Dangerous, inappropriate and offensive content is strictly prohibited.
  • E.g. Scams, discriminatory content, violence, adult services, Quests related to drugs or alcohol. 
  • Explicit content and nudity, such as individuals posing in topless clothing or swimwear are not allowed. 
  • Quests that may result in the invasion of personal privacy are not allowed. This may include investigating and/or gathering personal information without the concerned individual’s consent or knowledge.

Posts that solicit cash, gift cards, vouchers, cryptocurrency, bank transfers or similar transactions from others are strictly prohibited (No Bitcoin payment please!)

  • To maintain the integrity of Quest, deceitful quests are not allowed. These include requests for fake reviews, likes, follows on any platforms. 
  • You are allowed to provide academic assistance, however, completing a graded test or assignment on behalf of another individual is not allowed.

  • To increase the completion rate of your Quest, it is important that they have a clear description of the intended services, time, and budget. 
  • Description: The Quest should clearly and thoroughly state what needs to be done. Add as much information as possible to help Heroes understand your expectations.
  • Time: Specify when the Quest needs to be completed by.
  • Budget: It is crucial that you set a fair price in exchange for the amount of time and effort required of your Hero. We do not endorse unreasonable offers and the posting in question may be moderated if required.

Community Guidelines

Quest is committed to connect individuals while remodelling the way work is done in Southeast Asia. We hope to create a safe and secure platform for both our Heroes and Citizens. It is therefore important that our users adhere to the following guidelines, which helps to uphold the values and standards of behaviour that are integral to Quest.

1. Authenticity

To maintain authenticity and trust on Quest, all users are recommended to provide real and proper name and identity information.

All users are required to use their real names corresponding to an official identification document

Users are recommended to have a profile picture to ensure accountability and credibility. Users must use their real picture which is clear and recognisable to other users.

2. Sharing of private and personal information

To protect your own safety and security, do not disclose your private and personal information such as your contact details, national identification details, social media handles, addresses, etc. This is to ensure your safety and prevent scams or spams. 

Users can share contact information once an offer and agreement is accepted via the Quest app. We encourage all communication and sharing to be done within the app’s chat function for safety and privacy reasons. 

3. Unacceptable behaviours

Quest is about creating a safe, reliable and respectable community for our users. Quest will not tolerate any negative behaviour against our users or staff.

Inappropriate or undesirable behaviour on Quest will not be tolerated. Accounts may be subjected to temporary suspension or indefinite removal depending on the severity. 

Quest has a zero tolerance policy against any illegal behaviour in accordance with the Singapore Law. This includes but is not limited to sexual harassment, scams and any other unlawful activity such as theft or vandalism.

Derogatory comments or behaviour towards other users will likewise not be tolerated. This includes but is not limited to racist and/or sexist comments, or those which instigate religious enmity between users.

Any Quest or comments on the Quest platform which troll or mock other users is prohibited. 

If users are found to have artificially manipulated their profiles, it can result in suspension of the account as it harms the fairness of our review system.  

4. Payment

Quest aims to create a safe and trustworthy platform where monetary exchanges between users are smooth and secure. To ensure a safe and secure environment for all, we have set certain guidelines for users to adhere to.

To provide seamless transaction of funds, please ensure your credit or debit card details are valid and up to date under Payment Settings.

  • Prices for the completion of a quest can be raised or lowered, subject to mutual consent. Prices set for each quest, once mutually accepted between users, are final. Users are expected to pay the full amount with no additional fees. Prices must be transparent. 
  • All payments should be made via the Quest app, with the exception of material cost and purchases made by the Hero on the Citizen’s behalf. Negotiation of payment outside the app is prohibited.
  • Payment is to be made online through a credit/debit Mastercard or VISA card. Payment is securely held by Quest until the deal is completed.
  • User can decide to make payment eternally. Please ensure authenticity of payee before payment is made.

5. Accountability

For Heroes, you remain accountable for both your behaviour on the Quest platform and the provision and outcome of each quest you are assigned to. Your responsibilities include:

  • Fulfilment of quest requirements
  • Ensuring Citizens are kept in the loop for status updates and prompt replies via the platform
  • Heroes are expected to provide the services as agreed with the Citizen.

For Citizens, when you accept a Hero’s offer on your quest, you and the Hero remain accountable for your behaviour on the Quest platform and the outcome of the quest.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Being clear, reasonable, and committed to responding to the Hero via the platform
  • Checking for quest completed and releasing payments

We remind you that where Quest receives reports that you have breached any of these Guidelines, we may take action to remove any content, or cancel or suspend your account and/or any contracts.

If you suspect a member of the community has violated any of the Community Guidelines, we urge you to report the issue to us. You can either drop us an email at hello@quest-inc.co or use the in-app Report feature. 

We take the safety and security of our users seriously and we will periodically update the Community Guidelines as Quest continues to scale.

WARNING!

Quest takes any breach of our Community and User Guidelines very seriously and we are prepared to take action against the accused by removing any undesirable content including posted quests, sent offers and ongoing contracts submitted through the app and/or cancel or suspend the account. There will be no refunds for paid features from quests that have violated the guidelines.
